Below is our recent interview with Lori Huffman, Director of Marketing at Cogent Analytics:

Q: Could you provide our readers with a brief introduction to Cogent Analytics?

A: Cogent Analytics is a business management consulting firm committed to integrity and transparency. Established in 2014 and ranked on the INC 5000 list of fastest growing companies for 3 consecutive years, we continue to grow as we place the interests of our clients first and consider their success to be our success. We focus solely on small to mid-size, privately held businesses to help promote growth and profitability. Through what we call a “Discovery Process,” we identify opportunities through a holistic business analysis to provide solutions that are tailored to the individual business. We offer our expertise in a number of areas that affect profitability: SALES, PEOLE, OPERATIONS, and MEASUREMENT; and we refer to these as the four pillars of business that make up the Cogent Profit Platform.

We believe that it’s not just about the business – it’s about improving the lives of the owners and their families as well providing security for their employees and their families. It all translates to providing and keeping jobs, maintaining a living and strengthening the fabric of the communities where they live. We consider it an honor to serve the American entrepreneurs who are truly the backbone of our country.

Q: Who is your ideal client and why?

A: Our ideal client is the American small business owner who has the desire to achieve success which is really only defined by them. We believe the American small business owner is the most under-served area of the economy and we consider it an honor to help them to achieve their goals. We will also help our clients set their goals that will lead them to the next level of success in their entrepreneurial journey.

Q: Can you tell us something more about your solutions?

A: There are many facets of a business that can affect profitability. Cogent Analytics exists solely to help businesses achieve new levels of success and find areas of opportunity that can lead to increased profits. We partner with business owners and work with strict standards of integrity and transparency.

Cogent Analytics uses a Profit Model that outlines four main pillars of business that directly affect profit: SALES, PEOPLE, OPERATIONS, and MEASUREMENT. Each pillar in the Profit Platform is interconnected with each other and they all collectively affect profitability. Through a Discovery Process, Cogent takes a systemic approach to focus in on each of these areas to uncover profit opportunities in your business.

During Cogent’s Discovery Process, an expert business analyst dives deep into each of the four pillars of a business, and, over the course of two – three days, our analyst will find opportunities that can improve the profitability of a business.

From the findings of the Discovery, we customize a roadmap for an individual business situation and tailor the solutions that will help the business thrive.

From there, the business owner can opt to implement the recommendations on their own, or they may opt to have one of Cogent’s Project Directors come on-site and work side by side with their organization to help implement the changes.

Q: What makes Cogent Analytics Different?

A: Cogent Analytics was founded in 2014 on the premise to serve the American small business owner with integrity and transparency. After having worked in the small business consulting industry for over a decade at that point, Rob Braiman believed that business owners were not being served honorably or in some cases treated ethically; thus, he founded Cogent Analytics to make a difference. Always putting the interests of the client first, Cogent Analytics adheres to high standards of ethics and a code of honor. Each client is treated individually with tailored solutions that work for them and for their business. Cogent works side by side with business owners to help implement the changes recommended for their specific situation to improve their profitability. Another crucial difference is that Cogent will not leave the business owner after a project completion In reality, a project never really ends, it is an on-going process and Cogent will engage with a client in a “Lifecycle Relationship” to ensure solutions “stick” and then help guide them to new solutions and grow to new levels of success.

Cogent Analytics’ goal is to become a trusted business advisor for the small business owner. As businesses engage an accountant, and an attorney, the third leg to the business stool in achieving solid business growth is a business advisor. A trusted advisor is one who can ethically help guide a business owner with their best interests in mind. It is also one who is not adverse to telling them what they need to hear and not what they want to hear, and will provide an objective and unbiased view so the business owner can make sound business decisions. Cogent Analytics is that advisor.

Q: COGENT ANALYTICS’ Name Appears on the Inc. 5000, Ranking No. 2085 With Three-Year Revenue Growth of 134% Percent; can you tell us something more?

A: I am honored every day to be serving the American small business owner. We are genuinely passionate about helping small businesses succeed which in turn improves the lives of the owners and families and strengthens the communities in which they live. This ranking for a third year in a row is a testament to our commitment to deliver solid solutions to business owners with integrity and transparency.

The plan is to conservatively grow our footprint. Our goal is by the end of 2024 to be in all 50 states. However, how big or how fast we get there is really unimportant; we will continue this journey of representing the small business owner with integrity and transparency. We really serve as a change agent; we are the push and the nudge for all our clients to grow and succeed. As our clients grow and succeed, so too will Cogent. And, it is with this thought and reason that we also have our sights set on maintaining our rank on the Inc 5000.

Q: What can we expect from Cogent Analytics in next six months?

A: In the next 6 months and ongoing into the future beyond, we will continue to serve our clients ethically and responsibly as we have done. Our clients’ interests always come first, and it is what brought Cogent to this point and it is what will sustain our growth going forward. As more and more small businesses experience better performance and profitability with Cogent by their side, the stronger communities become and the better poised we all are for economic growth and prosperity.
