Q: Could you provide our readers with a brief introduction to Microshield360?

A: MicroShield 360 provides a unique coating system that PREVENTS 90+ pathogens (think common cold, flu, MRSA, e. coli, mold and odors) from living on a treated surface for an entire year. Our system can not only drastically reduce labor time but reduce risk and improve the overall environment within any given facility. Our proprietary system can reduce cross-contamination in well trafficked areas or prevent mold growth in others. It’s truly a game changer in how we approach cleaning. It’s no longer about being reactionary rather preventative.

The system its self is colorless, odorless and hypoallergenic. It literally cleans the air within the facility. We’re also EPA registered, and FDA approved for direct food contact surfaces. Independent research has shown the technology to by 95% more effective at reducing surface contamination relative to non-treated and we continue to work with major universities to further our knowledge and the systems abilities.

Q: How exactly does it work? What can you apply it to?

A: We’re EPA registered for hundreds of facilities and surfaces. We’ve applied to everything from college wrestling mats to medical facilities and commercial offices. Recently we’ve began applying within residential homes and have stumbled upon its ability to eliminate tobacco smoke…most recently a case of a 25yr smoking house. We saved them thousands of dollars in carpet and cabinets. It’s great in showers, lockers and other high humidity areas to prevent both mold and odors. You name it we can most likely apply to it.

The method brings together electrostatic application, MicroShield 360 Renew and MicroShield 360 Antimicrobial to create one powerful system:

Electrostatic Application: eliminates human error in application and creates a uniform coverage while allowing people to move through facilities up to 6x faster than normal spray and wipe approaches.

MicroShield 360 Renew: specially formulated cleaner/disinfectant to be used in conjunction with our antimicrobial. Spray on and allow to air dry with streak-less formulation. This not only preps surface for application but can be used across entire facility for routine cleaning and surface renew.

Q: Tell us more about your technology. What makes it unique?

A: We’ve taken a known antimicrobial and specialized the bonding agents and suspension agents. This provides us unmatched durability and uniform active ingredient coverage across all treated surfaces. This bonding is what helped secure the FDA approval for direct food contact surfaces.

It works by mechanically puncturing a pathogen and applying a positive charge which in turn disrupts its ability to function properly. As the coating doesn’t use poisons to infect and kill, antimicrobial resistances cant be formed against our coating.

Q: What’s wrong with traditional disinfection methods applied by all businesses and homes?

A: There’s a few:

1. There’s no residual protection. Once it works it quickly dissipates off the surface as poisons are most commonly used. The area is then immediately open to re-contamination.
2. Human error in application. Very rarely are dwell times followed. Think about it…you normally see people spray and immediately wipe. Most disinfectants need 2-10min to work. Also, people tend to miss very important areas when applying them. The underside of arm chairs, back of door knobs or even a fridge handle.
3. As we just covered resistances can be formed which lead to superbugs.
4. Costly in labor when done properly. Usually why it’s not

Q: What are your plans for the future?

A: We’re in the midst of a few larger projects. We’re making a push into aviation with our partner Constant Aviation as air travel is inherently dirty. People are stuck in circulated air and little time is allowed between boarding and de-boarding. Our residential application is seeing great results and we’ve recently launched our Self-Perform Program where by we train a business to properly deploy our system within their facility to prevent a large array of common problems while reducing costs. We’re exploring applications in agriculture as well as marijuana. We also continue to dig deeper into food processing and manufacturing. Needless to say we’ve seen interest from a wide variety of markets.
