Q: Marine, could you provide our readers with a brief introduction to Phoseon Technology?

Q: Can you give us more insights into your LED technology?

A: Phoseon’s patented Semiconductor Light Matrix™ (SLM)™ technology encapsulates LEDs, arrays, optics and thermal management to ensure curing performance. Each of these four components is a strictly engineered system that provides maximum UV energy and superior performance while also increasing long-term robustness for demanding applications.

Phoseon Technology pioneered the use of LEDs for curing in both commercial and industrial applications, offering equipment manufacturers superior technology, products and solutions. Phoseon products use 365nm, 385nm, 395nm, and 405nm wavelengths and offer product families with both air-cooled and water-cooled UV curing systems.

FireJet™ for example are high capability air-cooled UV LED curing lamps aimed primarily at UV Inkjet wide format systems and is capable of curing at the highest speeds for small, medium and grand format digital printing systems. It’s also ideal for many large single pass UV inkjet and wood coating applications.

Q: You’ve recently announced Phoseon Technology Exhibits LED Curing Solutions at Label Forum Japan 2017; could you tell us something more?

A: At Label Forum Japan, Phoseon will demonstrate why LED technology is a perfect fit for printing applications due to the compact size, ease of integration, and high intensity output achieved through optimized LED thermal management. Users of Phoseon LED curing systems can process a variety of materials, including thin and heat-sensitive substrates, at maximum production speeds with low-input power.

UV curing technology is utilized for drying coatings and other UV sensitive materials through polymerization. UV LED improves on that existing process by enabling thinner, heat-sensitive substrates while reducing harmful byproducts such as ozone, and improving workplace safety. Additionally, UV LEDs can be turned on and off instantly, and utilize input power efficiently to enable lower operation costs over the application lifetime. Phoseon Technology will be demonstrating and explaining all these benefits during the show on July 6th and 7th.

Phoseon products are constructed with LED curing technology that uses Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) which are semiconductor devices that emit light with a specific peak wavelength. These UV LED curing systems are developed to specific application and machine specifications. The UV LED curing lamps are available in both water and air-cooled formats and Phoseon incessantly develops new features to meet customer needs.

Performance and power of UV-LED lamps have increased dramatically since UV-LED lamps were introduced in the market- that trend will continue. Much of this increase is due to continually more efficient LEDs.
