Below is our recent interview with Michael Wong, CEO of PropheTech:

Q: Could you provide our readers with a brief introduction to PropheTech?

A: “The tiny HYPER thing” is the best to describe ourselves and our solutions.

PropheTech is an IT company established in 2016, founded by a group of diversified and talented IT professionals with groundbreaking ideas to provide Cloud solutions and services for enterprises. We are small, but we are profoundly capable of big things, our team is full of passion in contribute towards a better Cloud ecosystem.

Q: Can you give us more insights into your solutions? What makes your technology unique?

A: User’s perspective was seriously considered when developing HyperMotion – the migration tool. We tried to make it as simple as possible so that users can complete the complicated migration process in just a few clicks. Moreover, System Integrators (SI) can also enhance their services by utilising our tool; the Automated Analytic & Sizing feature provides SI the insight of the system environment, it saves their time on researching, analysing and affinity mapping. It highly reduced manpower and human errors when comparing to the traditional manual process.

An easy to read web-based dashboard gives users an overview of the system at a glance. Its Intuitive design enables users to run the tool without referring to the manual. HyperMotion covers majority of the system environments, it provides two ways of data synchronization: Agent and Agentless. And through remote installation or API commands, users can complete most settings and operations on the centralised web GUI. The SOP enables users to execute massive scale of migration easily, they can also accurately estimate the resources and time required for migration.

HyperMotion is designed to simplify the Cloud Migration process, “Automation” is embedded in its DNA throughout the design and development phases. Its Automated Analytic & Sizing feature provides insight of the system environment prior to migration. While during migration, the Automated Adaptation feature enables smart system environment adaptation. And in the meantime, its Automated Diagnostic feature will perform system analysis and diagnosis when problems occur. All these automated features highly increase the productivity, reliability and improve the efficiency of the migration process.

Q: Who are your main clients and what are some of the key challenges you are helping them solve?

A: We have two main types of client:

1. Enterprises and Government Departments that are preparing to transform from the traditional IT architectures to Cloud.
2. Enterprises and Government Departments that have completed initial Cloud architecture implementation, and are planning to shift to Hybrid or Multi Cloud.

For the first type of customers, they all have common fear of uncertainties:
• Fear of reversibility in the cloud
• Fear of data security and integrity
• Fear of accessibility and controllability
• Fear of budget overruns and missed deadlines

Our automated solutions help clients protecting and migrating their valuable data in a simple but efficient manner. The Single Pane of Glass design provides a comprehensive view of the entirety new technological environment and makes it possible for clients to access everything in one place. Together with our solid experience and professional support, I believe this does boost customer confidence and eliminate their fears.

While for the second type of customers, they have a relatively deeper understanding of the Cloud and hence have the tendency to continuously optimize their own architecture to meet business needs.

HyperMotion managed to migrate data to/across any platforms (P2V, V2V, V2P, P2P) without business outage. Enabling any-to-any Cloud migration offers customers with greater flexibility to create the best fit solution for their business. It avoids vendor lock-in and makes it easier to switch between cloud service providers when pricing and features make a different route more appealing. It helps reducing IT operations cost and optimizing ROI.

Q: What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced in your business and how did you overcome it?

A: The biggest challenge is to change the mindset of corporate customers in IT Servicing. Most corporate customers’ perceptions of data migration and IT services are still “manpower-oriented”. However, in today’s complex and rapidly evolving Cloud Era, the “manpower-oriented” approach is no longer effective enough to fulfil the high technical competence needs.

To overcome this challenge, we productized the service and integrated business processes into a tool (software). This automated tool highly reduces migration complexity and eliminates risk caused by human. With the intuitive wizard design interface plus a simple demo video, customers can complete data migration in just a few clicks.

We successfully migrated thousands of workloads for enterprises, customers are impressed with the efficiency of both our product and service.

Q: What are your plans for the future?

A: MultiCloud trends are evolving rapidly nowadays, to operate and manage a complex of different cloud environments becomes a big challenge, it requires plenty of planning, resources allocation, additional governance processes in place,… etc. We will continuously optimize our products and extend our coverage across all major Cloud platforms; Interoperability, Portability and Security are always taking into consideration.

We develop our products by closely listening to our client and understanding their expectations with both our product and service. We analyse information and customize our offering to changing market needs. We target to address customer concerns, provide them SIMPLE but comprehensive solutions so that they can enjoy the freedom and flexibility to switch between different Cloud platforms and add value to their business. I hope we will soon become the worldwide leading MSP in the Cloud industry, be a one-stop-shop supporting customers for all their needs throughout the MultiCloud journey.
