Below is our recent interview with Joseph B. Tota, CEO of Red Arrow Tap Room:
Q: Could you provide our readers with a brief introduction to Red Arrow Tap Room?
A: Red Arrow Tap Room is the first Pour Your Own establishment in Chicagoland. We have two locations in Elmhurst, IL and Naperville, IL. We are changing the guest experience by enabling self-pour beer and self-ordering digital table menus. Guests are free to pour their own beer and pay by the ounce. It provides a unique visit for each guest. We feature 48 self-pour taps featuring independent craft beer. Our beer ambassadors can help each guest find that perfect pour. We also have full-menu of smoked meats and other American menu items.
Joseph’s spent over 20 years consulting the worlds’ largest brands on strategy, technology implementations and talent development. In his travels as a consultant, the pain points of the guest experience in restaurants were obvious to him. He believed that a better restaurant operating model could be implemented with technology and redesign of the guest experience. His passion of craft beer, great food and entrepreneurship led him to design the Red Arrow concept. Red Arrow is expanding through a franchising model under the new brand of Tapville Station.
Q: How does it work?
A: After one of our friendly Beer Ambassadors verifies that you’re of legal drinking age, you’ll be issued a Pour Pass, which is either prepaid or linked to a credit card. Insert your Pour Pass at the tap of your choice, and pour as much or as little as you desire.
Q: How do we ensure safety?
A: Once you’ve reached the designated pour limit, your Pour Pass automatically shuts off. Staff members, each trained in safe alcohol service, may then reactivate your Pour Pass if it is determined that you are able to continue drinking.
