Below is our recent interview with Robert Bagheri, CEO & Founder of KeraCel:

Q: Robert, can you tell us something more about Keracel?

RB: KeraCel is the creator of a unique and proprietary process technology that is at the cross section of Energy storage Technology, Material Science and 3D printing.

KeraCel was founded in later 2016 by its founders with their own seed money. The company has raised only a fraction of what many battery startups raise to get to the level accomplishments KeraCel has already reached.

Q: You’ve recently announced a strategic partnership with Musashi Seimitsu Industry; could you tell us something more?

RB: The relationship with Musashi is a long term relationship which allows both companies to work together to bring SSB technology to electrified motorcycles.

Q: Can you tell us something more about your 3D printing process? How does it work and what are the benefits of a 3D printed battery?

RB: We cannot tell you much about our proprietary 3D printing technology yet as we are currently in the process of filing many patents on it. Suffice it to say that our unique process addresses the very issues everybody has been dealing with such issues as interfacial challenges, defects and shorts.

Q: How will your solid state battery change the world we live in?

RB: Our SSB technology will change the energy storage ecosystem and supply chain as we know it.

a. There will be major disruption to the current infrastructure, where we will see huge resistance from the incumbents because their billions already invested.
b. We will make the cost of SSB so affordable that many more application can use it and that electric cars will be much more affordable.
c. We will make them in any shape or size enabling many more applications.
d. Most importantly, form a green technology perspective, our battery materials is recyclable

Q: What are your plans for the future?

RB: We are planning to be in mass production of SSB for automotive in late 2021 with our select partners we are currently in discussion for commercialization funding.
