Q: For those who haven’t heard of it, what is the best way to describe PowerPlug?

Q: What are the benefits of using your solution?
A: saving power and money – PowerPlug’s customers save up to 60% of their PC power consumption by creating tailored power policies for each computer group with different settings and exact conditions for work and non-work hours for PCs entering power savings.
Improve IT Operations – PowerPlug Pro is designed with the IT department in mind. Administrators easily define rules for powering down PCs in a way that doesn’t interfere with their day-to-day maintenance activities. In addition, PowerPlug has a built-in integration with Active Directory & Microsoft SCCM. In fact, PowerPlug’s customers testify this integration increases software distributions success rate.
Eco-friendly – A single PC consumes over 600 KWh a year under normal working conditions – releasing over 50 kg of CO2 into the atmosphere every year. Greenhouse gasses are directly responsible for global warming and have a devastating effect on the environment. Saving electricity is still the most effective way to keep our planet greener. Q: Why should businesses care about carbon footprint?
A: In one word – responsibility. Businesses worldwide starting to understand their impact on the environment and seeking for ways to reduce organizational carbon footprint. Generating the electricity needed to power organizational PCs causes extensive greenhouse gases emissions. On average, producing enough electricity to run 15 computers for a year causes the same amount of pollution as driving 20,000 kilometers in a family car. Managing the power consumption of 1,000 PCs can cut carbon emissions by over 200 tons annually.

Q: What can we expect from PowerPlug in the future?
A: We, at PowerPlug, understand that PC power management is only a small part of the total plug load use. Although a lot of office equipment is getting more energy efficient, many studies have indicated that user behavior is the main factor for overall increasing energy use.
We believe that going after a solution that monitors and manages a range of plug loads devices will have a bigger effect in reducing the overall power consumption.
With our rich experience in PC power management we are going to allow organizations to have a better understanding and control over all plug load devices they are using. By monitoring all these office appliances and having the ability to set a tailored power policy – we can change the organization’s behavior to be much more energy efficient, save money and be eco-friendlier – it is one of our main goals for the near future.
