Omer Enbar

Q: Could you provide our readers with a brief introduction to Sensibo?

A: Sensibo is making air conditioners and heat pumps connected and smart. We have taken a mission to connect the world’s air conditioners to the internet, and develop new methods to make the experience of using them better, and to save energy using new methods driven by connectivity and algorithms.

Today we have a line of products, a best-reviewed consumer product that anyone can buy off Amazon and in other retail and distribution channels. We are also working with HVAC manufacturers to embed our technology in future and existing AC units. One example would be Carrier Corporation, which selected our technology to be embedded and provided in their product line.

Q: Can you give us insights into your features?

A: Sensibo brings many useful features, and it pays for itself in energy savings.

First, the ability to control and monitor from your smart phone and other devices. You can control the operation of the A/C, set unlimited 7-day scheduling. You can also enable geofencing, and set your unit to turn on automatically before you arrive, and turn off when everybody leaves.

Another very useful feature is Climate React, which gives you full automation control of your climate. You can set the A/C to trigger and change the settings according to certain set points of temperature, humidity and feeling. This feature lets you really enjoy the comfort and peace of mind.

Q: I see you have an API. What made you take that direction, and what applications have you seen evolve from that offering?

A: We believe that internet connected products benefit greatly from an open API access. Our community is creating great integrations that leverages our API. For instance, there’s a community backed project that connects Samsung’s SmartThings to Sensibo, and Apple’s HomeKit as well.

We also have many partners that integrate their apps and devices with Sensibo, so you can find Sensibo working with Energy utilities to provide Demand Response capabilities, and advanced energy savings. And of course, our API enabled us to provide Google Home and Amazon Echo integrations swiftly for the benefit of our users.
