VingApp makes it extremely easy and efficient for anyone at your company to monitor and record employee interactions with training, policies, standard operating procedures, and health and safety materials. Keep employees in compliance so you can avoid company financial loss and employee injuries. Below is our interview with Tony V. DeAscentis, CEO at Ving:

Q: Who are the primary users of Ving and what are some of the key challenges you are helping them solve?

A: The Ving is purposefully designed to align with the learning and information consumption styles of today’s workforce with intent to dramatically increase the probability of an employee using the shared information.

There are two types of users:

1. The person who wants to track engagement data, create and/or share Vings. Most of the users of this type are company leadership: CEOs, VPs, Safety Managers, Supervisors—the people accountable for keeping the workforce informed of key company information. The number one issue these users face is lack of time to connect their decentralized workforce with information that will help their company to avoid quality issues, rework issues and on-the-job injury; all of which have a significant financial impact to the bottom line if not dealt with proactively. So in comes Ving.

The Ving platform makes it extremely easy and efficient for this type of user to monitor and record employee interactions with training, policies, standard operating procedures, and health and safety material. The Ving dashboard sends them notifications of non compliance—helping the user to quickly identify that needle-in-the-haystack of an issue and leap into proactive action to derail the problem. It’s all about keeping employees in compliance so they can avoid company financial loss and employee injuries.

There is also a big financial savings as we help the company minimize or eliminate the unnecessary trips into the office for meetings/training.In addition, Ving takes a more modern approach and moves the company away from event-based training that happens once a year to short snippets or playlists of key information. You can email, text and/or post a Ving to any system your employees interact with (e.g. field service, work order management, factory floor systems, etc.). The Ving platform makes it possible to share training and/or other critical information with employees at the point and time they need it—when they are about to perform the task. In contrast to a more traditional method of training, you actually use what you learned today and 3 or more months down the road.

Lastly, the more you use Ving, the more templates you create of reusable, highly engaging content. Your personal efficiency and effectiveness as it relates to employee communication gets better and better over time. Ving supports the use of your unique company content or content you may have already licensed—or they can use our Safety Ving library of 1,000 titles. It houses content developed by subject matter experts from OSHA, DOT, FDA as well as other industries and even extends into professional skills development. Most importantly, our content aligns with learning styles of today’s workforce, leveraging high impact videos, images, assessments and more.

2. The other type of user is the person that receives a Ving—typically the employee. The employee receives a highly engaging bit of communication versus a bunch of written text lost somewhere in their inbox. Our research shows that employees love getting Vings. It helps to clarify what is expected of them on the job, and it ensures that key information is readily available and applicable to the task they are about to perform. Today’s learning styles are all about justintime: ”Right before I need to know, tell me.” Ving is built to deliver on this need and thus drives engagement and learning up to more effective levels.

Q: Could you tell us something more about your pricing?

A: Users license the Ving platform with or without our premium content. For example, if you are a company that would like to build out your Ving template library with all of your own policies or job-specific instructions, all you need is the Ving platform license. There are three types: single user, multi user and enterprise. Each varies in the number of users (a user is a person who wants to look at data, create and/or share Vings) and availability of select features. With the Ving platform, you can create and share as many Vings as you want—no limitations on content or recipients. On the other hand, if you would like access to our premium safety training content, there is an additional fee of $50 per seat per year (scalable pricing is available). Those assigned to a seat can view any training in your library as many times as you need them to.

Q: What are your plans for next four months?

A: While, in its current state, the Ving platform offers a very robust set of features aligned with the needs of our target users, of course—as you would expect—we don’t stop investing in the development of new user-driven requests. At present, we are aggressively building out our partner network. This is an exciting move. We’ve been teaming up with consultants and safety consultants nationally as part of our reseller program. Also, we have recently launched our API and are going live with an integration into an oil and gas project management system in Q4 of 2017. We built Ving from the ground up to interface with other legacy applications and/or SaaS applications that could clearly benefit from the types of features Ving brings to the table.

Q: How would you convince the reader to start using Ving?

A: It’s simple. If you are the type of person that starts out every day with great intentions of tackling that task list; visiting key project sites and/or company locations; connecting with the people you need to connect with to ensure things stay on track, but find you are derailed or there just isn’t enough time to get it all done; if you are experiencing financial impact due to the fact that key information you shared through email, voicemail or even your project management/work order management system was seen too late or not at all; you need to take a look at Ving. Ving is built to stomp out this frustration and the associated problems—not to mention our Ving Success Team is second to none in helping our clients reach Return on Effort and Return on Investment in the shortest possible timeline.
